    Hiking in Mt. Dairoku

Located at the southern margin of the Tokachidake mountain range, Mt. Dairoku has the highest peak (1,459 m asl) in the university forest. Dwarf Siberian pine (Pinus pumila) dominates the area, alongside a variety of alpine plants. Access to the peak is usually prohibited. However, we are holding a hiking event on Mt. Dairoku with the purpose of providing an opportunity for the public to visit the peak and understand our efforts to conserve the valuable natural environment of this area. Starting from an altitude of 1,100 m, participants will experience a relaxed walk to the peak, while enjoying magnificent natural landscapes and blooming alpine plants.
